Ever since I was a little girl I loved dancing. I used it as a self care tool quite naturally, and honestly, that is one of the best ways to develop your personal set of self care tools.
What brings you joy? Comes naturally? Brings you peace, calm, and ease?
As long as I can remember, when I needed an escape, to let go of stress, or wanted a moment to myself, I would go down to the basement of my family home, put on show tunes, and dance. I would probably be embarrassed to admit this if I had not found others who enjoyed dancing as much as I do. There is something liberating, creative, and joy-filled about playing your favorite music and dancing.
